Welcome to Haiku Canada Weekend May 16-18 2008

Haiku Canada is proud to announce the details of the annual Haiku Canada Weekend.  This year our gathering is called Northern Lights and takes place May 16-18 at Carleton University in Ottawa.  If you've never attended, now is your chance to meet other haiku lovers, attend workshops and lectures and join an international network of haiku writers. American Haiku Archives Web Site

The advisory board for the American Haiku Archives (AHA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website at www.americanhaikuarchives.org. The archives, founded in 1996, is the largest public archives of haiku and related poetry outside of Japan, and is the official home of the Haiku Society of America archives. Many individual donors have also contributed thousands of books and papers to the collection, which welcomes ongoing contributions from around the world, especially of new publications and personal papers relating to haiku. The new Web site features poems and biographical material about the current honorary curator, H. F. Noyes, and selected past curators. It also presents extensive information about the archives, its location and history, how to use it, how to make donations, and much more. Concours haïkus

COMMUNIQUÉ

Le groupe « Haiku-Québec » en collaboration avec la Société des amis du Jardin Van den Hende de Québec organise un concours de haïkus sur le Jardin botanique Roger Van den Hende. Ce magnifique jardin pédagogique (regroupement des plantes par familles) est situé sur le campus de la plus vieille université francophone d';Amérique, l';Université Laval.

Pour ceux et celles qui visiteront Québec en cette année de son 400e anniversaire de fondation, nous vous incitons à vous rendre au Jardin Van den Hende et à participer au concours.

Les haïkus retenus seront publiés dans un recueil à paraître au printemps 2009.

La date limite pour soumettre les haïkus est le 15 novembre 2008. Un maximum de 10 haïkus devront être soumis en un seul envoi par la poste ou par courriel à la Société des amis du Jardin Van den Hende dont les coordonnées sont à la fin de ce texte, en indiquant la mention
« Concours haïkus ».

Les haïkus peuvent être rédigés en anglais ou en français.

Les gagnants du concours, en plus de voir leurs haïkus publiés, recevront une copie du recueil ainsi qu';un guide du Jardin.
