Guy Simser

Guy began cursive writing with a straight pen and inkwell and thought the ball point pen was futuristic. His poems (English/Japanese forms) have appeared in eight countries.

Literary Awards: Carleton University Prize, Diane Brebner Prize, AHA Tanka Splendor Prize, Hekinan International Haiku Special Prize, Kaji Aso Senryu Prize; and CBC radio documentary, Alberta Culture (radio drama), and IODE short story awards.

Guy co-chaired HNA’s Crosscurrents Conference (Ottawa), wrote book reviews/poet interviews for HC Review & Simply Haiku and sits on Gusts editorial committee.
