Joanne Morcom

Joanne Morcom's the author of two poetry collections, A Nameless Place and About the Blue Moon. As a founding member of The Magpie Haiku & Tanka Poets, she's the co-author of two anthologies, A Piece of Egg Shell and Weathered Wings.

Her haiku and tanka have appeared in numerous print and electronic publications, and she's won awards for her poetry. In 2012, she won the annual North Carolina State University Insect Museum Hexapod Haiku Challenge (best in show, poet over 13.) Bugs rule!

In addition to her membership in Haiku Canada, she's a member of Tanka Canada and Writers Guild of Alberta. She's also a social worker, laughter yoga leader and living book volunteer with the Calgary Public Library. Her book title is "Laughing Poet." Check her out!
