Kimiko Horne (1933 - 2026)
Kimiko “Kim” Horne passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at the age of 92.
Her daughter, Janet Cozens, informed Haiku Canada of this news.

Kim was an active member of Haiku Canada, and wrote haiku in Japanese and English for over 40 years.
In 2013, she received First Prize in the Betty Drevniok Award Contest.
The October 2025 Haiku Canada Review included an interview with her, and also featured her sumi-e art.

Haiku in English and Haiku in Japanese: A Conversation with Kimiko Horne.
Kim had a passion for Scottish Country Dancing, and in 2025 had the honour of having one of her dances
published by the Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society, Scotland.
She will be missed.
